Learning the Game from Scratch

Every golfer has to start somewhere. Whether you're picking up a golf club for the first time or looking to understand the game a little better, learning golf is a journey that takes patience, practice and a willingness to learn. This is the beginning of one golfer's mission to understand the game, develop a consistent swing and enjoy everything golf has to offer.

Correct golf setup

Golf is one of those sports that looks simple from the outside. Stand over the ball, swing the club and watch it fly towards the target. Easy, right? Not quite!

For someone starting their golfing journey, there is a lot more to learn than simply hitting a golf ball. From understanding the different clubs to getting comfortable with your stance, grip and swing, the basics are what make everything else possible.

My mission is simple: learn the game of golf, one lesson at a time.

Rather than rushing into trying to hit the ball as far as possible, I want to focus on understanding the fundamentals and building a swing that I can rely on. There is no point trying to run before you can walk, and golf is certainly a game where the small details matter.

Throughout this journey, I'll be exploring different elements of the golf swing, learning from mistakes and hopefully seeing some improvements along the way.

There will be good shots, bad shots and plenty of moments where I wonder what went wrong! But that's all part of the process.

The aim isn't to become a professional golfer overnight. It's about enjoying the learning experience, understanding the game and developing the confidence to step onto the course.

Over the coming lessons, I'll be focusing on the key fundamentals that every beginner should understand, starting with the basics of the golf swing.

One swing, one lesson and one step closer to becoming a better golfer.
